Yogi spotlight: Jamie Bishop, RYT certified
Jamie began her study of yoga more than two decades ago and has been certified for over a decade. What had started as curiosity soon blossomed into a full-blown yoga practice and vegan lifestyle, prompting her to continue her education through courses on nutrition, herbalism, hormone balancing, mycology, and more.
As a yoga instructor, Jamie’s classes feature an electric blend of Sivananda and Iyengar yoga, with the added dimensions of chakra balancing and meditation. She continues to study yoga doctrines and is currently working to obtain her certification in Yin yoga. She brings along with her decades of studies into various dietary lifestyles—Ayurvedic, macrobiotic, raw food, veganism, and vegetarianism—and how these impact an individual’s practice.
When Jamie is not on her mat, she can be found working on both personal and community projects. She loves to coordinate events like yoga and wine nights, yoga for wedding parties, rage yoga and more.
