Yoga for YOUR Body

Yoga is not merely an exercise that requires doing a headstand or bending backward, but it is a form of meditation to create peace and calmness. There are different types of yoga that we'd like to discuss so you can try and know which works best for you. At True Nature Wellness, we’re proud to offer a variety of yoga classes in Sandusky, ensuring that no matter what you’re looking for, you enjoy a workout that’s right for you.

Ashtanga yoga pose

1. Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga is one of the toughest forms of yoga you can do as it requires expertise and experience. With a high emphasis on muscles and joints, this is not for people who have sensitive or weak muscles. Simply put, it’s a great exercise for your entire body.

With ashtanga, every pose is advised to be repeated many times. We recommend taking some other yoga classes before taking on this one, unless you are experienced or you’re up for the challenge. Of course, if you have questions about what to expect, don’t hesitate to reach out!

2. Yin — Long Holds

Yin yoga is modified to cater to people differently, yet the foundation action remains unchanged, focusing on “stretch and hold” poses. A good start for beginners, it helps to balance the nervous system. It consists of few poses done for long periods, making it easier than other yoga types — especially for beginners.

If you’re interested in yin, you’ll find that it is a therapeutic practice that cools and heals connective tissues to improve flexibility and mobility. In other words, it’s the perfect way to find your space and grow as you practice yoga.

3. Yoga Nidra

Focused on relaxation, yoga nidra is a conscious relaxation state. Also called yogic sleep, it compels those who practice it to meditate and release energy from a fast-paced life. It is a relaxing yoga, and it’s ideal for anyone who is used to having to deal with high stress levels.

It is not a relaxing or sleeping practice, but the mind is conscious, and you have to go through layers of meditation to reach your true inner self. Join a teacher to make it guided meditation as you may need assistance. At True Nature, we make it easy to join a yoga class or a one-on-one session.

4. Kundalini (Meditation and Motion)

The practice of kundalini is directed towards our core energy and not solely muscles. Unlocking the energy creates a surge like no other practice. Kundalini yoga is systemic, starting from chanting and breathing with each pose. It is a powerful exercise practiced widely among yogis and celebrities to channel their energy and open themselves up.

Yoga is the practice of self-awareness that may come in the form of many types. While years of practice may allow expertise in the field, beginners are encouraged to take yoga classes in Sandusky with teachers. At True Nature, our mission is to help you find the yoga that’s right for YOUR body. Whether you’re a beginner, you’ve taken several classes, or you’re ready to try something new, we provide you with an opportunity to love yourself, find your space, and grow.
