Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of healing and wellness that emphasizes the connection between the body, mind, and spirit, helps maintain balance and harmony in order to achieve a fuller sense of well-being. In part one of our series on the Ayurvedic principles, we focused on Vayu (or air). In today’s post from True Nature Wellness in Sandusky, we’re focusing on Akasha, which means space or ether. Akasha (Space or Ether): A Series on Each of the Ayurvedic Principles

What Is Akasha?
Akasha is the space or emptiness that holds the other four great elements: water, earth, fire, and air. It is the invisible, yet all-pervading force that the other elements move through. Akasha is the essential glue that binds all of creation together.

Akasha As the Source
Akasha is associated with the fifth sense, or spiritual connection. It is the source of intuition and enlightenment, and it is the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms.

The Expression of the Divine
In Ayurveda, Akasha is seen as the source of all knowledge, including the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda. It is an expression of the divine intelligence that is the source of life.

Akasha and the Ayurvedic Principles
Akasha is an important part of Ayurvedic practice, as it helps to bring balance and harmony to all aspects of life. It is believed that when we are in tune with Akasha, we are able to live in alignment with our true nature and the divine laws of the universe.
